What Are Subliminal Messages
Subliminal messages are the transmission and implanting of thoughts through covert means.
They are subliminal because they are below the threshold of consciousness.
That is we do not consciously perceive them.
This means that the conscious part of our minds are by-passed and direct access to the subconscious is obtained.
The Power of Subliminal Messages
Direct access to the subconscious can be very powerful because the filter of our conscious mind is circumvented.
The conscious mind acts as a filter, a logic processor that interprets and deciphers input before allowing it to be given meaning.
When there is no filter to appraise or evaluate input, thoughts and concepts can be implanted deep within the mind without scrutiny or analysis.
The Aim Of Subliminal Messages
They are usually directed and aimed at one of our two primal instincts - desire or fear.
To those core desires and fears that are at the heart of every human being and from which most of our unconscious behavior derives.
This unconscious behavior is perhaps responsible for much more of our behavior than we may realize.
This allows them to more readily slip under our conscious radar and these core or base instincts do not need complex messages to succeed.
Manipulation can use very simple archetypal symbols or concepts to convey profound change sin behavior.
